SANTA ANA — A man was fatally shot on a street corner Tuesday in what police said was a drive-by shooting.
Jorge Espinoza, 26, of Santa Ana was shot once in the chest about 10:40 a.m. near an apartment complex at Bristol and Walnut streets. He staggered around the corner before collapsing behind a bus-stop bench outside 124 S. Bristol St., Police Sgt. Dan Beaumarchais said.
“It was definitely a drive-by (shooting),” Beaumarchais said. “If it’s not gang-related, it’s dope-related.”
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no arrests.
