A 15-year-old South Los Angeles girl allegedly stabbed her father to death while trying to break up a parental argument Sunday night, police said.
Arthur Lee McCaleb, 39, died during surgery for a knife wound in the back, said Lionel Robert, a South Bureau homicide detective. McCaleb was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he died shortly after the 9 p.m. stabbing, Robert said.
McCaleb was apparently arguing with his wife in front of their home when he was stabbed, Robert said. Police found a kitchen knife nearby, he said. The teen-ager was being held in Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey for investigation for murder.
