Park Young-kyun of South Korea, in his hometown of Kwangju, outpointed Antonio Esparragosa of Venezuela to gain the World Boxing Assn.’s featherweight championship. Three judges scored the 12-round fight by a margin of five to six points for Young-kyun.
Park, 24, is 18-1-1 with 10 knockouts. Esparragosa, 33, is 30-2-4.
