Farm Workers Offered Housing Aid: Farm workers left destitute by California’s pre-Christmas freeze can get help through a federal program to avoid losing their homes. Freeze-related federal aid was originally limited to unemployment relief. But President Bush has approved a plan to help make rent or mortgage payments, said Phil Cogan of the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Fresno.
