COUNTYWIDE : Student Elected to College Board Post

Oxnard College student Rebecca Kinder has won the student advisory seat on the Ventura County Community College District board in a districtwide student election.
Kinder, student trustee during the 1989-90 academic year, received 500 student votes in a two-day election April 9 and 10. Her opponent, Moorpark College student Jay Marlette, received 344 votes.
During the one-year term, the student trustee is recognized as a full member at board meetings. But the student representative may cast only advisory votes.
Kinder will be sworn in July 2.
