VENTURA : Olivas Adobe Tour Scheduled Saturday
- Share via
Adobe construction, seen in many old buildings in Ventura County, can trace its origins to ancient Egypt and Rome, according to Richard Senate, Ventura historical sites manager.
While touring the Olivas Adobe on Saturday, visitors will hear how mud brick construction methods were carried by the Arabs to Spain and then to the New World.
Guide Tomme Weishaar will begin the free tour at 1 p.m. at Olivas Adobe, 4200 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura.
