SEAL BEACH : X-Ray Facility Plans Must Be Inspected
- Share via
The City Council has approved an ordinance requiring that facilities housing X-ray equipment have plans checked by officials.
The new ordinance is designed to ensure that proper radiation shields are provided in the construction or alteration of buildings or enclosures in which X-ray machines are housed.
The checks will be made before building permits are issued. The plans will be reviewed by health officers from the Environmental Health Division of the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Under the ordinance adopted this week, any person who operates an X-ray machine without having approval for the structure or enclosure in which it is housed is guilty of a misdemeanor.
