Death of Dr. Seuss
On a hot Wednesday in Autumn,
the sad news did arrive.
Dr. Seuss had finally left us,
he was no longer alive.
The murmur spread quickly,
and soon in the land,
came all the Doctor’s children,
the procession was quite grand!
Horton lumbered by sadly,
the Grinch had a terrible pout,
the Cat in the Hat wept loudly,
They were awfully sad no doubt.
Suddenly out of somewhere,
came his voice with his face,
“Don’t worry my children
for I’m really quite pleased with this
place.”
So mothers and fathers let me tell you,
if your children should say,
Did Dr. Seuss really leave us,
on that hot Autumn day?
“Don’t worry my friends,
for I didn’t actually die,
because forever you can find me
in the big Whoville in the sky.”
