NICE TIMING: Steve Buechele, who hit .410 his senior year at Servite High School in Anaheim, hadn’t given much thought to the World Series while playing this summer for the Texas Rangers, far down in their division. . . . But in late August, he was traded to Pittsburgh and will be in the lineup for the Pirates against the Atlanta Braves in baseball’s National League playoffs tonight. . . . Buechele also starred in basketball at Servite.
