Teen-Ager Pleads Guilty in Shootout That Killed 2

A teen-ager on Tuesday pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for her role in a shootout in South Gate last May that killed a would-be robbery victim and her 15-year-old accomplice.
The reputed Compton gang member, whose name was withheld because of her age, entered her plea in Los Padrinos Juvenile Court just before trial was scheduled to begin.
Under terms of a plea bargain, the girl is expected to be sentenced to 12 years in prison on Dec. 9, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Teresa Gomez.
But because she will be sentenced as a juvenile, she can only be held in the California Youth Authority until she turns 25. She will serve a minimum of four years, Gomez said.
