Duarte Residents Express Their Civic Pride

That was a cheap shot, Los Angeles Times. Painting such a negative picture of a city based on a single letter from one former short-time resident is very unfair. And it is simply not true.
I have lived and worked in Duarte for 12 years. I have contended with the city on issues like the pinhole leak problem, and worked together with the city as a volunteer on the Community Services Commission to help develop solutions to that and other problems affecting the community.
What I have found Duarte to be is a caring, committed and responsive city that is working hard to make the community the best it can be for its citizens.
