One of the Sawyer Miller Group’s “strategic communicators,” an alleged former grass-roots activist, comments that “there is human suffering, yes, but efficient markets mean more wealth for society as a whole than do inefficient ones,” in justifying the gargantuan rip-off of Safeway employees that he helped engineer. I don’t think I’ve read a more concise summation of the “make the rich richer and let the poor eat dirt” attitude that characterizes the modern American political system.
