Val Whiting scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead fourth-ranked Stanford (11-1, 1-1 in the Pacific 10) to an 87-72 victory over USC (8-4, 2-1) Thursday at Palo Alto.
Lisa Leslie led USC with 25 points.
California 74, UCLA 71--Milica Vukadinovic scored 19 points and had nine assists to lead California (10-2, 2-0) over UCLA (9-4, 2-1) at Berkeley.
