Recruiting update: Mission Viejo defensive lineman Matt Keneley is scheduled to visit USC this weekend, and plans to choose between scholarship offers from USC and UCLA by next week.
“I had visited California, too,” said Keneley, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tackle, “but the coaching staff is a little unstable up there after Bruce Snyder left (for Arizona State).”
In other recruiting news, Mater Dei quarterback Billy Blanton, one of Orange County’s top college football recruits, visited San Diego State last weekend and plans to visit Colorado next week. La Habra running back Jason Johnson is considering Illinois, Colorado and Duke.
Feb. 5 is the first day a player can sign a letter of intent.
