I can’t take it any more. After Bob Oates’ season-long hymn of praise to the run-and-shoot offense, I’ve had it. While one could admire his Oliver Stonewall belief in what he perceives as truth, I have a (Donny) Warren commission report of my own.
--All three run-and-shoot playoff teams are at home playing golf.
--They lived by the run-and-shoot, and died by it.
--Houston: Couldn’t protect a lead late in the game. No tight ends, no running game, can’t kill clock. Goodnight, Moon.
--Atlanta: Couldn’t play in the slop with the Hogs. With the run-and-shoot, bad weather is the defense’s 12th man. Farewell, Deion.
--Detroit: Proved a one-dimensional offense can’t beat a complex, aggressive, intelligent defense. Later, Erik.
