BALL ROLLING: Maybe Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw aren’t talking about it, but former Irvine Mayor Larry Agran is picking up presidential support--even in South Dakota. Of 503 Democrats who filed to run as convention delegates there last week, Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey got 207; Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, 165; Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton 89, California’s Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr. 20 and then Agran with 16. Agran picked up Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder’s lone delegate when he dropped out.
