A tiger skin rug with the head attached, two leopard skin coats and a mink vest were some of the nine fur goods worth $45,000 that were stolen from a Santa Clarita condominium over the weekend, sheriff’s deputies said Monday.
Valerie Dinness, 48, returned Sunday to her condominium in the 19800 block of Sandpiper Place to find it ransacked and the furs missing, Lt. Donald Rodriguez said. Detectives suspect that the burglars entered through an unlocked patio door of the second-floor residence, he said. No suspects are in custody.
Other items stolen were a Celebes monkey fur poncho worth $3,000, a $2,000 fox vest, a $10,000 gold Russian sable jacket, a full-length Russian broadtail lamb coat worth $4,000, a $2,000 zebra rug and a .38-caliber pistol, deputies said.
