INDOOR SOCCER

Jimmy McGeough, formerly of the Wichita Wings, participated in his first practice as a Socker Tuesday after signing with the club to fill the roster vacancy created by midfielder Brian Quinn, who recently left for the U.S. national team.

McGeough is a 26-year-old defender with one year of MSL experience.

The Sockers also announced they have re-signed midfielder Zico Doe, this time to a developmental contract. Doe, a native of Liberia who was originally signed to the regular roster during training camp, was released before the season’s 12th game and replaced by seldom-used Mirko Castillo.

Ironically, Doe’s signing comes at a time when he is nursing a groin injury.

The Sockers end a two-week hiatus Sunday when they take on the St. Louis Storm (6 p.m.) at the Sports Arena.
