San Diego police will distribute free gun locks next week in an attempt to cut down on gun-related accidents, police said.
On Feb. 24, police will begin distributing 2,000 free trigger locks at the San Diego Pistol Range at 4008 Federal Blvd. in the hopes that the devices will cut down on shooting accidents, police said.
Up to two gun locks per person will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, police said.
Gun owners are required to bring their unloaded pistols with them for registration purposes, police said.
