Talking Turkey

I don’t think Carroll would find the Turks quite so “friendly and hospitable” if he were one of the 200,000 Greek Cypriot refugees who lost their homes and 40% of their land as a result of the 1974 Turkish invasion and continued occupation of Cyprus. Did it ever occur to him that perhaps there’s a reason the Turks have historically received “bad press” as he calls it? It’s bad enough that they have been allowed to continue these acts of aggression well into the 20th Century--must we idealize them as well?
