La Puente : Senior Housing Project Alive
A proposed 44-unit senior housing project on Glendora Avenue was kept alive Tuesday by the City Council, which set aside a recommendation by the Planning Commission to scrub the plan.
Instead, the council voted 4 to 0 to send the proposal back to the commission with instructions to work with the developer and city staff to produce an acceptable revision. Councilman Edward L. Chavez was absent.
The commission last month denied the proposal by Bhagabhai Patel, saying the three-story complex would be too big for the site and cause traffic problems and too much noise.
The about 28,000-square-foot site, which now has three houses on four lots, is in the 700 block of Glendora near the Hacienda Boulevard intersection.
