Rancho Santiago’s Christensen Named El Toro High Girls’ Basketball Coach

EL TORO — Denise Christensen has been hired as girls’ basketball coach at El Toro High School, Athletic Director Sheri Ross said.
Christensen, a former Cal State Fullerton player, coached at El Toro two years ago before taking over at Rancho Santiago College last season. Rancho Santiago’s program folded after last season, and Christensen applied for the El Toro position vacated by Ricardo Brown, who was asked to resign at the end of the season.

El Toro basketball--The reason for Ricardo Brown leaving his position as El Toro girls’ basketball coach at the end of last season was mischaracterized in Saturday’s Times. Brown resigned as part of a mutual agreement with the school because of conflicts with his teaching job at Santiago High.
