Southland Teachers Honored at Ceremony

Cal Poly Pomona has honored 55 Southern California teachers at its teacher recognition ceremony, organized by the school’s Center for the Advancement of Public Education. The teachers were selected by their school districts.

San Gabriel Valley teachers who were honored are: Sharon Oliver, Ramona Elementary School, Alhambra School District; Bernadine Spencer, First Avenue Junior High School, Arcadia Unified; Gail Arakelian, Slauson Middle School, Azusa Unified; Madalena L. Arellano-Martinez, Geddes Elementary School, Baldwin Park Unified; Robert Westhafer, Torch Middle School, Bassett Unified; George Starkey, Lone Hill Middle School, Bonita Unified; Charlotte Brockway, El Roble Intermediate School, Claremont Unified, and Patricia Lewis-Farr, Valley View Elementary School, Duarte Unified.
