Bank of America Looking to Expand in Texas: Bank of America Chairman Richard M. Rosenberg said that while the company’s primary focus was on managing its merger with Security Pacific, it remains interested in expanding in Texas. Speaking before the annual meeting in San Francisco, Rosenberg indicated that the company wants to position itself as “a strong third” in Texas. He said that in most cases it will wait on acquisitions as it consolidates after the merger. “Texas is the exception,” he said. The company has been mentioned as a leading candidate to buy crippled First City Bancorporation in Houston.
