Inyo and Mono county reservoirs, stocked each week with half-pound rainbow trout, also will be receiving trophy trout in a program scheduled to begin next week.
The larger trout--ranging from two to 12 pounds--will be planted in selected reservoirs every second week through mid-September, according to the California Department of Fish and Game.
Chris Boone, manager of the DFG’s Hot Creek Hatchery, said that during the week of Aug. 3, 250 fish averaging six pounds and 350 averaging three pounds will be released in the Mammoth lakes of Twin, Mamie, Mary and George, and Bridgeport’s Twin Lakes.
