La Mesa Man Arrested in Stabbing of Father

A 19-year-old La Mesa man allegedly stabbed his father after a heated argument in their kitchen Sunday afternoon, police said.
Vaughn Avery Modesett was being held at County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder after a quarrel in their home in the 4500 block of 3rd Avenue at 2:35 p.m. ended with the father being stabbed with a knife, La Mesa Police Lt. Carl Wirtz said.
The elder man, whose name was not given, was taken to the hospital, where he was treated. No other details were available Sunday night.
