One person was killed and two others were injured Sunday when two vehicles collided head-on in a Northridge intersection, Los Angeles police said.
Karam Girgis, 20, of Glendale died about 10:45 a.m. when his car was struck in the intersection of Lassen Avenue and Reseda Boulevard, Officer Lee Holloman said. Girgis was driving north on Reseda and apparently attempted to make a left turn onto Lassen when his car was hit by a southbound van, Holloman said.
The driver of the van, Soh Yi, 63, of Granada Hills, suffered a broken right shoulder, arm and wrist, Holloman said. Yi’s wife, Jae, 50, suffered a broken right shoulder and jaw, Holloman said.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
