* * * Charles & Eddie, “Duophonic,” Capitol. Charles Pettigrew and Eddie Chacon have such an effortlessly sweet way of delivering retro soul music that it recalls the ‘70s style of Marvin Gaye, Al Green and the Chi-Lites. Nothing here is startlingly original, but “Would I Lie to You” is not to be missed, as solid, sleek and comfy a soulmobile as you’re likely to encounter.
