On the map: Rosemead city officials have honored retiring Assemblywoman Sally Tanner (D-Baldwin Park) by renaming Delta Mission Park as Sally Tanner Park.
“We wanted to do something that really was significant, not just a plaque,” Rosemead Mayor Margaret Clark said. Last weekend’s ceremony included a presentation to Tanner of a page from the next issue of a Thomas Bros. guide showing that Tanner’s name is, indeed, on the map. Clark praised Tanner for her work on environmental issues and other matters of concern to local residents.
The renamed park, at 8343 E. Mission Drive, contains a picnic area and a children’s playground.
