Ask Edison Coach Kristi Kaufmann, a heptathlete who graduated from UC Irvine this year and then landed the Edison coaching job.
“It’s kind of nice,” said Kaufmann at the Laguna Hills Invitational last Saturday. “But they (the team members) like to tease me because I’m a walking goose bump at the beginning of each race.”
A what?
Kaufmann gets so nervous she breaks out with goose bumps. Saturday’s Dana Hills Invitational might spawn another outbreak. But Kaufmann shouldn’t have much to worry about;Edison is the top-ranked team in the county and No. 4 in the nation.
