A man who was videotaped buying beer at a Rosemead convenience store is believed to be the person who, minutes later, shot and killed another man nearby during an argument, authorities said Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies are seeking public help in identifying the suspect.
The victim, about 40, who has not been identified, died at Sunday afternoon at County-USC Medical Center, two hours after he was shot by an assailant with a handgun. The two were arguing outside an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Del Mar Avenue.
Witnesses to the shooting identified the beer buyer as the assailant. He was described to deputies as a Latino, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches with a thin build and slight mustache.
