Glendora : Swap Meet Plan in Trouble
Despite winning approval to open an indoor swap meet, a developer said he may drop the plan because of unreasonable requirements imposed on the project by the City Council.
Mehdi Farkhondehpour said that because of the state’s poor economy he would have difficulty renting the stalls of the 900-square-foot minimum established by the council Tuesday.
Councilwoman Molly MacLeod said she agreed, dissenting in Tuesday’s 3-1 council vote. Mayor Bob Kuhn was absent.
Farkhondehpour proposed using the vacant store in the Newberry Shopping Center on Alosta and Glendora avenues. The building was used as a home improvement and grocery store in past years.
He said Tuesday night that he is uncertain what he will do now.
