EEOC Sues Prudential Insurance: Prudential Insurance Co. of America has been sued for race and sex discrimination by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Prudential, one of the nation’s largest insurance and financial services companies, “condoned a racially and sexually hostile work environment,” alleges the suit, filed in federal court in Connecticut. Prudential insurance sales staff have been demoted or dismissed because of their race or sex, EEOC spokesman Larry Pincus said. It wasn’t immediately known how many workers were allegedly wronged or how many Prudential offices were implicated.
