Hooks to Join Investment-Banking Firm: The Chapman Co., a minority-controlled investment-banking firm, has named Benjamin L. Hooks a senior vice president. Hooks, 68, recently retired as the executive director of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People. His appointment becomes effective at the end of the month.
