Rita Hopkins of Glendale has been named president of the Verdugo Mental Health Center’s board of directors.

Hopkins is co-owner with her husband of a Glendale jewelry store, and has also served on the National Charity League Juniors board.

Hopkins joined the board in September, 1990, and served as first vice president last year.
