FAST FACT
In the five seasons before Hagerty took over the program, the Spirits were winless.
OUTLOOK
This is the second year of Hagerty’s rebuilding program. After nearly making the playoffs in 1992, reaching the postseason is this year’s goal, and it is reachable. The key for the Spirits will be finding a passing game. Carberry, who has not played football until this season, and Wood will fight for the quarterback job. The running game, led by Kendrick and a big line, should be strong. “I know we are better than last year,” Hagerty said, “but I don’t know how it will stack up against the other teams in the league.”
