Bob Hope, who entertained troops overseas for decades at Christmas, will join his wife, Dolores, as co-grand marshal of next month’s Hollywood Christmas Parade.
“All the world loves a parade, and equally, all the world loves Bob and Dolores Hope,” said Johnny Grant, honorary mayor of Hollywood, in announcing the Chamber of Commerce choice for the 62nd edition of the parade.
The Hopes will lead more than 100 celebrities, including Santa Claus, over the 3.2-mile route on Nov. 28.
Past grand marshals include Jimmy Stewart, Sammy Davis Jr., Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlton Heston and Tom and Roseanne Arnold.
For decades, Hope led celebrities overseas on USO tours to entertain U.S. troops stationed overseas.
