Verbum Dei 88, Compton 80--Andre Miller led the Eagles with 26 points and Jamal Cobbs chipped in 18 as Verbum Dei shut down a fiesty Compton squad Wednesday in a nonleague game at Compton College.
The Tarbabes played relatively close until star forward Marquis Flemons got into foul trouble and was pulled from the game midway in the fourth quarter. The Eagles went on a six-point run and led by 10 when the senior forward returned. Flemons finished with 18 points to lead the Tarbabes.
