A Van Nuys man has been booked for vehicular manslaughter in the death of a pedestrian on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks, police said Saturday.
Marsha L. Morse, 52, of Sherman Oaks died just after 9 p.m. Friday in the accident that occurred on Riverside just west of Mary Ellen Avenue.
Police said Morse had just gotten out of her parked car when she was hit and knocked 40 feet by the Cadillac driven by Randolph G. Higgins.
After striking Morse, Higgins’ car continued westbound on Riverside and struck three parked cars, said Officer John Baby of the Los Angeles Police Department’s San Fernando Valley traffic division.
Higgins, 44, who police said had been drinking, suffered lacerations to the right eye. He was booked at Van Nuys Jail, Baby said.
