Wrestling / 145 pounds
Holiday, who entered the Five Counties Invitational at Fountain Valley High hoping to improve his state ranking, helped his cause by defeating the state’s Nos. 1- and 2-ranked wrestlers on his way to the 145-pound title. In the semifinals, he pinned Bo Weiner of Ponderosa after taking a 20-5 lead. In the final against Kyle Swan of Clovis he won, 8-7, on a reversal in the final three seconds of the match. “Winning in the last seconds like that really helps your confidence,” Holiday said. “Hopefully, I can move up to No. 1 in the state.”
