SANTA ANA : Second of Two Men Shot in April Dies

The second of two men shot April 29 in the 400 block of South Shelton Street has died, police said Wednesday.
Guadalupe Acosta, 20, of Santa Ana, who was shot several times while standing on the street with a friend, died Monday night, police Lt. Robert Helton said. Acosta had been hospitalized at UCI Medical Center in Orange since the shooting.
Acosta’s friend Francisco Miramontes, 25, of Laguna Hills, died May 1.
Miramontes and Acosta were standing in front of an apartment complex when they were confronted by a group of men, police said. Both were shot several times in the lower body.
Helton said the investigation of the shootings is continuing.
