The Dodgers switched Sizemore from catcher to the infield and he was voted rookie of the year in 1969 as a shortstop-second baseman. He went to St. Louis after the 1970 season in a trade for Richie Allen, came back to Los Angeles for the 1976 season, and retired in Boston in 1980 with a .262 lifetime average.
Sizemore, 49, is an executive at Rawlings Sporting Goods in St. Louis. He is in charge of supplying major league baseball with most of its equipment--including more than 700,000 baseballs a year--and is coordinating the sport’s growth efforts overseas. An avid golfer with homes in Missouri and Palm Springs, he is also a director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
