SANTA ANA : 3-Year-Old Who Was Struck by Car Dies

A 3-year-old girl who was struck by a car in front of her home last week died of her injuries Wednesday evening, police said.
Sandra Gonzalez had been in the hospital since June 24. The child, who was playing in front of her family’s home in the 2000 block of South Pacific Street, ran into the street and was hit by a car being driven by a 25-year-old Santa Ana man, Sgt. Dick Faust said.
The child died at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver of the car, who was traveling within the 25-m.p.h. speed limit, was not cited. The accident remains under investigation, Faust said.
