MISSION VIEJO — Deputies who stormed a condominium Thursday night after neighbors heard gunshots found the bodies of a man and woman, apparently the victims of a murder-suicide.
The teen-age daughter of the woman had escaped the condominium through a window. She also had suffered an ankle wound, and was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo.
Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Blair said the Sheriff’s Department received a call at 6:10 p.m. about three gunshots heard at the condominium on Poveda, in a complex named Finisterra on the Green, which borders the Mission Viejo Country Club golf course.
As they arrived, four more shots were reported to the Sheriff’s Department.
The SWAT team was called, and at least four nearby condominiums were evacuated.
SWAT team members broke in the front door and found two bodies lying in the breakfast nook, fairly close together, Blair said.
They also found one handgun, but they would not say where.
