Ropak Corp. Reports 28% Gain in Profit for 2nd Quarter

Ropak Corp., a Fullerton maker of plastic packaging and handling products, reported a 28% gain in profit for the second quarter. Earnings were $2.3 million, or 46 cents a share, up from $1.8 million, or 40 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales rose 12% to $35.9 million from $32 million. First-half profit was $2 million, or 41 cents a share, 54% higher than earnings of $1.3 million, or 29 cents a share, for the same period of 1993. Six-month sales were up 18% to $61 million from $51.9 million.
