Investment Law Passed: The national assembly has passed a long-awaited investment law, but business people and others say it is unlikely to bring a rush of investment although it may warm the economic climate. “This law is not going to change the comparative advantage of Cambodia vis-a-vis other countries in the region,” one foreign observer said. International confidence in Cambodia has been shaken by bouts of fighting between government forces and Khmer Rouge rebels, an attempted coup last month and the kidnaping and apparent murder of three young foreigners in April.
