ANAHEIM : Funds Sought for Live-Saving Surgery
- Share via
Relatives of a teen-ager stricken with a deadly disease are appealing to the community for donations to fund a life-saving operation.
Ali Hussain, 13, has aplastic anemia, a condition in which bone marrow stops producing vital blood platelets. A bone marrow transplant from his twin brother, Zeshan, can save Ali, but the family has only $51,000 of the estimated $150,000 cost of the surgery.
“We are desperate to collect enough funds for treatment,” said Tariq Rashid, the boy’s uncle. “The only barrier left between this child living or dying is money.”
Contributions to the Ali Hussain Fund can be sent to: P.O. Box 495, Anaheim, CA 92815-0495. Or call (714) 772-7131.
