A bold daylight burglary netted more than $150,000 in cash and jewelry when robbers broke into the home of a self-employed businessman, authorities said Wednesday.
The burglary in the 11100 block of Orion Avenue in Mission Hills took place Monday during the workday, said Lt. Joseph Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Garcia said investigators found signs of forced entry at the home, where burglars took gold bracelets and rings, some diamond-studded, Garcia said. The jewelry’s value was estimated at $135,000, Garcia said.
The thieves ransacked the home and also took about $20,000 in cash, described by Garcia as the weekend receipts of the man’s business.
