BURBANK : 1,000 Expected at Education Seminar

Bringing together at least 1,000 teachers, school administrators and parents, the Southern California Kindergarten Conference will be held Saturday at the Burbank Hilton Hotel Convention Center.
Jim Trelease, author of “The New Read-Aloud Handbook,” will be the keynote speaker at the daylong conference.
The conference will include workshops on more exciting ways to teach mathematics, how to work with bilingual children and story-telling techniques, said Barbara Blakley, spokeswoman for the event.
Forum discussions on different teaching philosophies will be held throughout the day, Blakley said.
