Disney Nearing New Theme Park Agreement in Japan: Sanford Litvack, Walt Disney Co. senior executive vice president, told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting that “within a very short time” Disney will announce a deal under which it will build another theme park next to Tokyo Disneyland. Disney officials have been discussing a second theme park in Japan for several years. Separately, Disney and Tishman Realty & Construction Co. are proposing to build a $300-million entertainment complex and Westin hotel on New York City’s 42nd Street. Plans filed with New York state call for a 10-story time-share condominium called the Disney Vacation Club, an entertainment complex, retail shops and a 47-story, 680-room hotel. The pair are bidding against several other companies for the right to put up the complex.
